The one below won’t work – it’s only a picture.

A web page should open (You need to be connected to the internet).

You should be able to follow matters from there.

The memorial cost about $200,000 and was fully funded through the government.

John Craufurd, one of the organisers, said the local councillor did all the work to secure the funding.

It took a couple of years but the result was worthwhile.

There is going to be money available for memorials with the upcoming centenary of WW1.

The photos below relate to the Springbrook (Gold Coast Hinterland, Queensland, Australia) War Memorial opened in November 2010.

Cost was in excess of $200,000.

Money was provided by Australian Federal Government.
The local Councillor obtained the funds from the Federal Government.
It took two or three years of hard work by the councillor to secure these funds.

One of the possibilities for Saint Columban's, especially with the centenary of Gallipoli imminent, is the ability to obtain funds for a memorial from one or more of the government programs.
