Importance: High

Hi All,

I have just received this sad news from Owen Puie, some of you may have already received this from Owen.

Arthur

Subject: The Passing of JOHN MASON Ex 4 Pl B Coy 6 RAR 1968 / 69

Well I havent issued a WARNING ORDER for many years but here we go." Be ready for John's FUNERAL"

John passed away peacefully yesterday at 3.45pm Monday 12th September at the John Hunter Hospital Newcastle.

He had been hospitalised in August & had his leg amputated below the knee, then within 2 weeks doctors realised they had to operate the second time taking more of the leg. Sunday night Doctors started a third operation this time to address Blood clots in his good leg. John did not regain consciousness. Wendy his wife of 30 plus years & other family members were at John's bedside at the end. May he rest in Peace.

At this point in time, I do not know the Funeral Arrangements, however I anticipate it will be held in the Coffs Harbour / Sawtell area either later this week or early next week. As soon as I do know I will pass on the details.

Kind regards            Owen Puie

Arthur,  Could you please forward this via the Associations network. John was well respected as a  Section Commander & I know many of B Coy & his 6 RAR friends would want to know.

I look after the “Mortality Files” website which lists deceased Vietnam Veterans.

I can’t determine between the two possibilities shown below.

If you can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
