Wilma,

Thanks for your email.

Your husband’s details aren’t in the Mortality Files.

I’ll include them from your email.

I’ve been looking after the “Files” for a bit over a year. I check the Queensland Funeral notices, but apart from that I rely on people telling me.

As best I can tell details for about 45% of the deceased Vietnam Veterans are in the files.

John’s details from the Nominal Roll are shown below.

I’ll include the details in this month’s current funerals. If you want to send me more information, please do and I’ll include it. I don’t usually upload the information to the files until around the end of each month.

Hi All

In the early hours this morning Frank Hanly passed away in the RBH after a 2-3 year battle with lung cancer and brain tumours.  Frank was a two tour South Vietnam veteran who served with 1RAR from 5 Nov 1965 to 7 Jun 1966 and 2RAR from 16 May 1970 to 1 Jun 1971.   He completed 20 years with the Army serving his final years in RASigs Units.

Funeral arrangements will be advised.  Messages of  condolence can be passed to his wife Lyn and family via myself (Brother in Law).

Rest in Peace Frank

Denis
